Actor Adam Bell portrays Rabbi Allen Secher’s lifetime battle for civil rights and against anti-semitism. Following the performance Rabbi Secher leads an audience discussion. Rabbi Allen Secher is one of the two survivors of the group of 16 rabbis arrested at the Monson Motor Lodge in St. Augustine June 18, 1964. This was the largest arrest of rabbis in American history. That protest helped lead to Senate passage of the Civil Rights Act a day later.
